Beginner's lesson starts at 7:30 and the dance starts at 8:00. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and $7 seniors, and a maximum of $25 for families.
Everyone -- beginner and experienced -- is invited to join our welcoming and family-friendly community and enjoy this lively, traditional social dance. No partners are necessary. All dances are taught with walk-throughs. Wear comfortable clothes and bring an extra pair of clean, soft-soled shoes for dancing. We are a cup-free dance, so bring your own water bottle or cup for water! Hope to see you there!
What is
Contra Dance?
Contra dance is a social folk dance form where couples form long lines facing each other and move through a series of choreographed steps, guided by a caller who instructs the dancers. It's often described as a more energetic and community-focused form of social dancing, with origins in English, Scottish, and French country dances
